The best-selling Wonders of Creation series adds a new biology-focused title that unveils the intricate nature of God's world and the harmony that was broken by sin. This educational resource is color-coded with three educational levels in mind: 5th to 6th grades, 7th to 8th grades, and 9th through 11th grades, which can be utilized for the classroom, independent study, or %(30). It's sweeping in its historical coverage and has a good grounding in the basics of ecology, but the thing I took away from Ecology for Beginners is the section at the end of the book, "Three Radicals to Read." They are Rudolph Bahro.

Looking for books about ecology for beginners I’m a high school junior who’s taking AP Bio and AP Environmental Science, and in the process discovered that I love ecology and this is what I wanna do with my life. MICHAEL L. CAIN, having opted for an early retirement to focus full-time on writing, now brings his expertise to this new book. Dr. Cain received his Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Cornell University, USA, taught at New Mexico State University, USA and the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, USA, and is currently affiliated with Bowdoin College, USA.

I am looking for a book on ecology. The book which deals with explanations by using examples on topics like niches, guilds, community structure and resource partitioning.   I agree, chrissharp, that it has great explanations of basic tenets in the first few chapters. Really well written and concise. The rest of the book does show its age. Still looking for a more up-to-date ecology book for lay readers.
